About ICED

Vision: to be a leading transformational agent of sustainable development in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa
(SSA).

Mission: to be a leading transformation agent for improving food security, livelihoods, well-being, and
environmental sustainability in SSA.

Objectives:
In pursuit of its vision and mission, ICED:

  • Assists and supports the improvement of the environment of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Sub
    Saharan Africa.
  • Provides advisory services for the creation, development and promotion of entrepreneurship for contributing
    to the sustainable development process in the region.
  • Assists enterprises to increase their efficiency in the international market. ICED provides relevant trade
    information and training in trade promotion and development and business partnerships and networks.
  • Facilitates gender empowerment in the region.
  • Organises capacity building and utilisation programmes and provides services that contribute to improve the
    quality of life in the region.

Mission & Vision

The vision of ICED is to be an active contributor to the sustainable development of Ghana and SSA. To realise its vision, ICED is committed to contribute to improve food security and the livelihoods of the population of Ghana and SSA by engaging in applied action research, relevant capacity building programmes and delivery of extension and advisory services to individuals and development stakeholders in the sub-region.

Core Activities

CED’s core activities revolve around fundamental research, action research, provision of extension services, design and implementation of development projects, organisation of capacity building programmes and engagement in advocacy on sustainable development issues.
